    National School Counseling Week

Please join us during National School Counseling Week as Seattle Public Schools (SPS) thanks our hard-working school counselors.

School counselors take on many duties throughout the school year. They provide comprehensive, developmental services and support that address the academic, career and social/emotional development of all students. They also work in partnership with other school staff, families and the community, to create support systems to ensure that all students have access to and are prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary for college, careers and post-secondary life choices.

The work of counselors often fits hand in hand with the district’s goal to eliminate opportunity gaps. Developing positive relationships with students is one of the district’s key strategies to tackling THE issue of our time. Whether it is a simple “hello” to a student passing in the hallway or mentoring to create a path toward college and a career, SPS counselors are paving the way toward providing the best educational experience for students.

Join us in saying thank you to all the district’s counselors.
