Seattle Public Schools is partnering with the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association to provide flu shot clinics September 24 through October 27 at several Seattle high schools.
The flu shot clinics are open to the public. Children under the age of 18 will need a patient consent form signed by a parent or guardian, which are available at the clinics.
There is no cost with proof of insurance, with the exception of Cigna, Tricare or Kaiser. Adult and children participants with insurance will be asked to provide their health insurance card at the clinic. Seattle Visiting Nurse Association will bill insurance for the flu shot.
Adults without insurance pay $28. Flu shots are offered to all children (age 18 or younger) free of charge, regardless of insurance coverage.
According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the single best protection from influenza is to receive a flu shot each year. The CDC recommends everyone 6 months old and over be vaccinated against the flu.
