    Posted on 06/13/2017

The Native Education Program of Seattle Public Schools will offer a Summer Reading and Writing Program at Lincoln School in Wallingford from Monday, July 31st through August 11th . This program is designed to increase Native student success and achievement in reading and language arts (literacy).

The program will run from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM Monday through Friday during that period. In this program, students will develop and enhance their skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students will read and write in small groups and one on one with certified teachers and instructional assistants. Parents/guardians will also be provided information and guidance on ways to help your student be successful during the coming school year. The goal of the program is to increase Native student achievement in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Transportation will be provided from designated pick up locations. Snacks will be provided.

Your student has been identified as Native American or Alaskan Native and is eligible for authorized supplementary literacy support services. These support services are under the Title III and Title VI grant programs and this summer we are offering a literacy skills enhancement program.
