    Safe Routes to School
    Posted on 10/08/2015

Seattle Public Schools are teaming up with Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), and community partners to create the city’s inaugural Safe Routes to School Action Plan.

The idea behind Safe Routes to School is simple; keep kids safe. Sacajawea Elementary is one of a dozen schools where SDOT has completed Safe Routes to School projects in 2015, which include new sidewalks and crossing improvements.

For 2016, Mayor Murray is proposing $5.8 million to support Safe Routes to School projects at another nine schools.
