Beacon Hill Elementary Students Heal Hate

Beacon Hill student posters cover messages of intolerance

Beacon Hill International Elementary School students recently came to the rescue of their neighbors by helping them recover from an attack by vandals.

Words and symbols of hate were spray painted across the front windows of the Amor Spiritual Center last week. Because dozens of students from Beacon Hill Elementary walk by the center to and from school every day, teachers decided to turn the vandalism into a learning experience.

Several classrooms created posters filled with messages of kindness to cover the spray paint until repairs could be made.
