    Advanced Learning Testing

    Testing Process

All K-8 students referred to Advanced Learning will be tested to determine eligibility for programs and services. All students are required to take a cognitive screening assessment and/or the CogAT Full Battery (depending on grade level and scores) as well as qualifying achievement scores in math and reading/ELA. Read more about the testing process.

Testing Locations and Missed Test Appeals

On the day of your scheduled test, please arrive at the testing session 10-15 minutes early to check in. Look for posted signs to help guide you to the check in location, which is typically the lunchroom or auditorium. View testing locations.

We know that sometimes unavoidable circumstances may occur which would prevent your student from attending their scheduled test date. Read more about missed test appeals.

    Private Evaluators

Testing provided by private evaluators will only be accepted for appeals. Read more about private evaluators.

    Results

The eligibility decision process is conducted by the Advanced Learning Office's Multidisciplinary Selection Committee. The process of determining if a student is eligible for Advanced Learning Programs or Highly Capable Services begins after all required information has been collected for the student.
