Coe Elementary School recently dedicated their new library after a pair of educators who dedicated their lives to teaching children.

Karen and Richard Kearns are well-known in Queen Anne communities. Between them they shared 78 years teaching in Seattle Public Schools and the community until October 2014 when Karen died unexpectedly.

On Tuesday, Richard took to the micro phoned podium at Coe and spoke eloquently about his wife while children and their families listened intently.

And just as he has provided over the years, the newly named, Kearns Library, will offer students a wealth of knowledge, including stacks of books, a computer lab, and two floors of architectural beauty. Thank you Richard and Karen.
