    Preschool programs begin soon

    While classes have begun for students in Grades K-12, the youngest students in Seattle Public Schools are waiting for their first day. Families of preschoolers can find September start dates and times as well as contact information for SPS preschool programs below.

    Head Start

    Head Start pre-K classes begin with phase-in on September 15 and 16, when parents and children attend together. AM sessions are held from 9 - 11 a.m., and PM sessions are from 1 - 3 p.m. For more information, contact Laura Garcia, Director of Early Learning Head Start, at 206-252-0976 or lwgarcia@seattleschool.org.

    South Shore Steps Ahead PreK

    South Shore Steps Ahead PreK begins as a "phase in" (half attending one day, and half the next) on Monday, September 8, and Tuesday, September 9. Full-day start for all pre-K students begins on Wednesday, September 10.     Special Education Developmental Preschool

    Preschool Special Education classes will begin on Monday, September 15. AM sessions are either from 8:25 to 10:55 a.m. or from 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. PM sessions are either from 12:20 to 2:50 p.m. or from 1:10 to 3:40 p.m. Extended Day services will begin on Monday September 22.
