The Operations Levy replaces the expiring operations levy and provides about 25 percent of funding for day-to-day educational programs and services not fully funded by the state of Washington. The operations levy pays for a portion of teacher, instructional assistant and support staff salaries, as well as textbooks, classroom supplies, safety and building security, bilingual and special educational services, professional development and training, bus transportation, student activities such as athletics, music, arts, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
The BTA IV Capital Levy replaces the expiring BTA III Capital Levy and renews our commitment to providing safe, quality schools.
- Buildings: to address growing enrollment, we will open 3 school buildings, and create basic health and safety improvements, including; earthquake safety, fire alarm, fire suppression, intercom, roof replacements, energy-efficient projects and HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical upgrades; windows and doors replacements and exterior repairs.
- Technology: we will meet critical needs to provide modern day technology equipment, instructional tools and training for all schools and will provide direct support for students and teachers.
- Academics/Athletics: we will provide support for Special Education and Early Learning improvements, adding science and computer labs to meet the new 24 credit graduation requirements, student assessment, program placement, and athletic fields and lighting upgrades.
