Submitting a Referral

In order for your child to be tested and considered for eligibility for Seattle Public School’s Advanced Learning Programs and Services you must first submit a referral form.

This year’s referral form was available online via the Source (starting September 7, 2016 and ending Oct 6, 2016). Please check back in the spring and summer of 2017 for a schedule of Key Dates pertaining to the 2017 - 2018 Student Referral Acceptance Period.

Accessing The Source

All Seattle Public Schools students have a Source account for secure communication of news, attendance, test scores, and other important information. If you have not yet activated the account, you will need to set up your access to The Source in order to submit an Advanced Learning referral. What Happens After You’ve Submitted Your Referral?

All students who are referred to the Advanced Learning Program will be tested in order to be considered for eligibility.

Once your referral form has been received by the Advanced Learning team, they will begin the test scheduling process – and you can expect to receive an email notifying you of your student’s testing date and time at least two weeks prior to your child’s test date.

NOTE: Only students who reside within the Seattle School District boundaries are eligible for Advanced Learning testing.
