School Building Specifications

School Building Educational Specifications

Seattle Public Schools has educational specifications (Ed Specs) that provide districtwide design requirements for school buildings and furnishings. These specifications are aligned with the district’s strategic plan, Seattle Excellence.

Ed Specs are the starting point for designing new schools or major modernization projects. In 2024, work is in progress to update the elementary and K-8 Ed Specs.
