Help Seattle Students: Volunteer with Youth Tutoring Program

Summary: The Youth Tutoring Program needs volunteers to tutor, guide, and inspire Seattle students by helping them achieve academic and personal success.

Become a Volunteer with the Youth Tutoring Program

The Youth Tutoring Program (YTP) is on a mission to tutor, guide, and inspire young scholars by helping them achieve academic and personal success. They currently have an urgent need for volunteer tutors.

YTP is an after-school educational enrichment program for 1st through 12th grade students who live in five low-income and public housing communities in Seattle.

Tutoring Locations

The locations include:

  • Jackson Park (Lake City)
  • High Point (West Seattle)
  • New Holly (South Beacon Hill)
  • Yesler Terrace (First Hill)
  • Rainier Vista (Columbia City)

Volunteers are asked to commit to one hour per week minimum. No experience necessary, and free training is provided.

Centers are open in the late afternoon and early evening hours. YTP students are largely diverse, representing many nationalities, cultures, languages, and religions.

In partnership with Seattle Housing Authority, the tutoring centers provide youth with a safe, positive, and stimulating environment to explore learning and experience academic and personal success.
