Grants/Gifts, Contracts & Capital Projects Approvals (Introduction & Action)
- Acceptance of funding to support student transition planning through the U.S. Department of Education’s Charting My Path for Future Success study. Approval of this item would authorize the Superintendent to accept funding in the amount $1,197,175 with any minor additions, deletions, and modifications deemed necessary by the Superintendent, for district’s participation in the U.S. Department of Education’s Charting My Path for Future Success study. Immediate action is in the best interest of the district. (Materials added 4/19/24)
Acceptance of Seattle Public Schools Seattle Preschool Program Plus Tuition Reimbursement from the City of Seattle for the 2022-23 and 2023-2024 school years. Approval of this item would authorize the Superintendent to (1) Accept SPP Plus tuition reimbursements received from the City of Seattle in the amount of $349,525.48 for the 2022-23 school year as specified in the Memorandum of Agreement dated May 22, 2023; and (2) Execute a contract for the 2023-24 school year to accept SPP Plus tuition reimbursements from the City of Seattle in an amount not to exceed $450,000, as specified in the Memorandum of Agreement dated September 13, 2023, and attached to the School Board Action Report with any minor additions, deletions, and modifications deemed necessary by the Superintendent, and to take any necessary actions to implement the contract. Immediate action is in the best interest of the district.(Item removed from agenda 4/19/24)- Approval of Enterprise Print Services Contract with Pacific Office Automation through RFP112305 for Enterprise Printing Services for the district. Approval of this item would authorize the Superintendent to execute an Enterprise Print Services contract with Pacific Office Automation for a period of five years (June 2024 – July 2029) estimated at $5,375,000 plus taxes. After the initial five years, the terms of the contract provide Seattle Public Schools with the option for four (4) one-year extensions (July 2029 – June 2033) with any minor additions, deletions, and modifications deemed necessary by the Superintendent to implement the contract. Immediate action is in the best interest of the district.
- BTA V: Approval of Construction Change Order No. 12 to Contract P5160 with Lydig Construction, Inc. for the Rainier Beach High School Replacement project. Approval of this item would authorize the Superintendent to execute Construction Change Order No. 12 with Lydig Construction, Inc., in the amount of $1,332,142 plus Washington State sales tax with any minor additions, deletions, and modifications deemed necessary by the Superintendent to implement the change order. Immediate action is in the best interest of the district.
- Insurance Reimbursement: Final Acceptance of Contract P5145 with LineScape of Washington LLC, for the John Stanford Center for Educational Excellence Emergency Fire Line Repair 2023 project. Approval of this item would accept the work performed under Contract P5145 with LineScape of Washington LLC, for the JSCEE Emergency Fire Line Repair 2023 project as final. Immediate action is in the best interest of the district.
- BEX V/BTA V: Final Acceptance of Contract P5158 with Western Ventures Construction, Inc., for the JSCEE Central Kitchen Renovation – Phase 1 project. Approval of this item would accept the work performed under Contract P5158 with Western Ventures Construction, Inc., for the JSCEE Central Kitchen Renovation – Phase 1 project as final. Immediate action is in the best interest of the district.
- BEX V: Final Acceptance of Contract K5130 with Aries Building Systems, LLC, for the Portable Classroom Relocation Summer 2023 project. Approval of this item would accept the work performed under Contract K5130 with Aries Building Systems, LLC, for the Portable Classroom Relocation Summer 2023 project. Immediate action is in the best interest of the district.

C. Introduction Items
- Adoption of 6-8 English Language Arts Instructional Materials. Approval of this item would approve the adoption of Inquiry By Design Middle School Curriculum, as recommended by the 6-8 English Language Arts Adoption Committee, for core instructional materials for Seattle Public Schools, grades 6-8 classrooms. Approval of this item would also authorize the Superintendent to purchase Inquiry By Design as the core instructional material for all 6-8 English Language Arts Seattle Public Schools for an amount not to exceed $3,848,753.50 covering licensing to digital products for school years 2024-25 through 2032-33 and professional development beginning summer 2024 and extending through school year 2026-27.
- Adoption of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 Instructional Materials. Approval of this item would approve the adoption of Illustrative Mathematics, published by Imagine Learning LLC, for instructional materials for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 Seattle Public Schools classrooms, as recommended by the Algebra 1-Geometery-Algebra 2 Math Adoption Committee. Approval of this item would also I further authorize the Superintendent to purchase Illustrative Mathematics as the core instructional material for all Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 Seattle Public Schools classrooms for an amount not to exceed $3,547,754, covering licensing to digital products for school years 2024-25 through 2032-33 and required professional development during the first three years of implementation plus six additional years for teachers new to the courses.
