  • Resolution No. 2024-25-1 – Accepting the Building Commissioning Report by Engineering Economics, Inc., for the BEX V Funded Program, Northgate Elementary School (aka James Baldwin Elementary School) as part of OSPI D-11 Application to Release Retainage.

  • Resolution No. 2024/25-4 – Providing for the submission to the qualified electors of the District at a special election to be held therein on February 11, 2025, of a proposition approving a program to levy additional taxes to provide a total of $1.8 billion to fund the Building Excellence VI Program to construct, renovate, replace or make additions at up to five schools; to construct building condition and infrastructure improvements throughout the District including energy efficiency upgrades, roof replacements, mechanical systems, interior and exterior renovations, and improvements to safety and security systems; for acquisition and installation of technology equipment, and implementation of training and other measures throughout the District to meet the current and future educational needs of its students; to replace the expiring capital levy, such levies to be made for six years commencing in 2025 for collection in the calendar years from 2026 through 2031.

  • Resolution No. 2024/25-13 – Authorizing the person(s) identified below (in Section 2) to act as the authorized representative/agent on behalf of our organization and to legally bind our organization with respect to the Site Improvements at Concord International Elementary School (Project) (RCO Project Number 24-2108 DEV) for which we seek grant funding assistance managed through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) (Office).
  • Resolution No. 2023-24-1 – Certifying the proposed Mercer International Middle School project (BEX V) will be completed according to the purposes for which state funding assistance is being provided.
  • Resolution No. 2023/24-2 – Certifying the proposed BEX V School project (Alki Elementary School) for Five (5) Year Use/thirty (30) Year Life.

  • Resolution No. 2023-24-4 – Resolving that those persons newly elected November 7, 2023 to the Seattle School District Board of Directors be designated to attend the Annual Conference of the Washington State School Directors’ Association, to be held November 16-18, 2023, as representatives of the district.
  • Resolution No. 2023/24-5 – Authorizing Dr. Brent C. Jones, Superintendent; Fred Podesta, Chief Operations Officer; Dr. Kurt Buttleman, Assistant Superintendent of Finance; and Richard Best, Director of Capital Projects & Planning, to sign on behalf of the Seattle School District No.1 in matters pertaining to state assistance for school construction.
  • Resolution No. 2023/24-6 – Certification of Excess Levies and Calculation of General Fund Levy Rollback for 2024.

  • Resolution 2022-23-14 – Certifying the superintendent to present a portfolio of proposed actions to balance the 2023-24 operating budget. This portfolio of proposed actions, called the Fiscal Stabilization Plan, will include reductions to district operations and educational programs.

  • Resolution 2022-23-20 – Authorizing termination of the Joint Operating Agreement between Seattle Public Schools and the Technology Access Foundation at Washington Middle School.

Resolutions Adopted by the Board

2021/22-2 Certifying that the submission to the qualified electors of the District at a special election to be held therein on February 8, 2022, of the proposition of whether excess taxes should be levied in the amount of $205,900,000 in 2022 for collection in 2023, in the amount of $215,900,000 in 2023 for collection in 2024, and in the amount of $225,000,000 in 2024 for collection in 2025, said excess taxes to pay part of the cost of eligible activities in support of the District.

2021/22-3 Certifying that two-days be waived from the 180-day school year requirement for elementary school and K-8 schools of Seattle Public Schools for the 2021-22 school year to permit these schools to establish a culture of care and provide supports for Kindergarten students and families; and provides assurances that the District will comply with the annual average requirement for instructional hours in RCW 28A.150.220(2).

2021/22-4 Certifying that the 1909 building of the Van Asselt School will be used for instructional purposes for at least five (5) years and that the useful life of the 1909 building of the Van Asselt School will be extended by at least thirty (30) years and that duly certified copies of this resolution shall be presented to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).

2021/22-5 Certifying the Daniel Bagley Elementary School Modernization and Addition project as complete

2021/22-6 Certifying that the Mercer International Middle School Replacement project will include demolishing the existing structure consisting of approximately 122,300 square feet that will be replaced by a new facility of approximately 174,000 square feet and that duly certified copies of this resolution shall be presented to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).

2021/22-7 Certifying the submission to the qualified electors of the District at a special election to be held therein on February 8, 2022, of a proposition approving a program to levy an additional tax to provide a total of $765 million to fund the Buildings, Technology, Academics/Athletics V Program for remodeling and modernizing educational facilities throughout the District including energy efficiency upgrades, roof replacements, mechanical systems, interior and exterior renovations, improvements to drinking water, acquisition and installation of technology equipment, and implementation of training and other measures throughout the District to meet the current and future educational needs of its students; to replace the expiring capital levy, such levies to be made for six years commencing in 2022 for collection in the calendar years from 2023 through 2028.

2021/22-9 Certifying that the Board of Directors of Seattle School District No. I, in accordance with the provisions of WAC 392-347-015 and WAC 392-34 7-030, certifies that the Gymnasium and Performing Arts Center facilities at Lincoln High School will be used for instructional purposes for at least five (5) years and that the useful life of Lincoln High School will be extended by at least thirty (30) years.

2021/22-11 Certifying collection of the 2022 Levy funds.

2021/22-12 Certifying that expenses of the representatives shall be paid by the district in amounts and in the manner permitted by the law, Board policy, and district procedures; and the directors and representatives shall make a conference report to the Board at or before the first regularly scheduled meeting of the Board in January.

2021/22-13 Urging the Washington State Board of Health to begin review of the COVID-19 vaccination for addition to the list of immunizations that students must receive before attending school, once fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

2021/22-15 Declaring that the lives of Black students matter, as well as the lives of all of our underserved students; affirming the demands of the Black Lives Matter At School Movement, and encouraging participation district-wide in the national Black Lives Matter At School Week from January 31 -February 4, 2022 and Year of Purpose 2021-22.
