    • Applications are now open for the School Health Education Task Force and are due on April 30, 2019. Members will address issues related to mental health, reproductive health, pregnancy prevention, supporting LGBTQ students, and other related topics. Visit the School Health Education webpage for more information and a link to the application.

    • Interested in Culturally Centered Family Engagement Training - Tuesdays, April 23 - June 11 from 6-8pm? All are welcome! We invite families of Color and families raising children of Color to participate in our family engagement program. We are looking for a dedicated group of committed parents, family members and/or caregivers to join us to learn how to be more intentional and most effective n the support of your children's educational experience.        with Tilman Smith presenting "But I'm a good person. How all white people benefit from institutional racism."
      Tuesday, June 11 with Dr Donald Felder, teacher, principal, educational consultant & David Lewis, Psy.D, LMCH, Program Manager of Behavior Health Services, SPS and Adjunct Professor, UW presenting "What Now? Embracing Racial Equity and Improving School & Community Culture."  Events are 5:30pm - 7:30pm in the Leschi library with childcare and dinner provided.     Community Meeting For Draft Strategic Plan

    Thank you to the community who attended meetings and participated in thoughtful discussions and provided feedback during the Draft process. The Strategic Plan is much stronger because of you! The final plan reflects a shared commitment to racial equity and justice.     Seattle Public Schools and the Board of Directors believe community engagement and two-way communication are essential to improving district decisions and outcomes for students.

    Attend a School Board Meeting

    You are invited to attend the public Seattle Public Schools Board meetings to gain a better understanding of school business and the role of the Board. The Seattle Public School Board welcomes members to address the Board on agenda items and other issues of concern during public testimony.

    The final list of public testimony will be posted on the meeting's agenda by the close of business the day before the regular Board meeting. All meeting agendas are located on the Board Agenda webpage and posted the Friday before Board meetings.

    Advisory Boards, Committees, and Task Forces

    Seattle Public Schools has a number of task forces and committees created to address specific issues, programs and School Board priorities.  Task forces meet for one year or less. Advisory committees are ongoing.
