Family Connectors University – Parent Education Class

10-Week Parent Education Class

Empower yourself to support your child’s education by enrolling in Family Connectors University. The 10-week class offers parents and caregivers effective strategies to support student learning and growth in Seattle Public Schools (SPS). This family-friendly class, hosted by SPS and North Seattle College, has been running successfully for over ten years.

Learn from: North Seattle College Instructor Paulina Cuevas-Vega, SPS Family Partnerships team members, and various guest speakers from SPS.

Session Details:

  • Sessions Offered: Quarterly
  • Duration: 10 weeks
  • Frequency: Once a week, Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.
  • Format: Online Via Zoom
  • Cost: $38.28 (Scholarships available)
  • Credits: Participants can earn two (2) college credits!
  • Interpreter Service: Upon Advanced Request

Topics covered reflect the interests of the families. Example themes include:

  • Supporting All Kinds of Learners to Be Successful and Confident
  • Social Justice
  • Special Education at SPS

2024-25 Family Connectors University Dates

  • Fall session: starts September 24, 2024
  • Winter session starts January 14, 2025
  • Spring session starts March 7, 2025

SPS offers need-based scholarships to offset the cost for participants who qualify. When you express interest, share your need for a scholarship.
