Title I

About Title I

Title I, Part A is a federal program that provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and public schools with high numbers or high percentages of children living in low-income households to help ensure that all students meet challenging state academic standards. Title I, Part A is a formula grants program for “improving the academic achievement of the disadvantaged.”

Parent Involvement

We know that family involvement in a child’s education is a greater predictor of academic success than family income. That’s why Title I, Part A program regulations insist on robust family involvement activities at every school where these federal funds support effective teaching and engaged learning.

Public School Choice

With the authorization of the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), public school choice (PSC) services are no longer required.
