One City, One District, One Future - Strategic Plan

The Seattle Public Schools Strategic Plan “Every Student. Every Classroom. Every Day,” set out a bold, five-year road map to ensure educational excellence and equity for every student, improve systems districtwide, and strengthen school, family, and community engagement.

We have made tremendous progress since its adoption in 2013, and we know that much work is left to be done. In partnership with you, we have the potential to go further and achieve greater than we ever could on our own.

The Strategic Plan Steering Committee and I are proud to share with you the draft 2019 Seattle Public Schools Strategic Plan, posted on the district website, along with a form that will allow you to submit your feedback on elements of the plan.

Shaped from priorities shared by the community during my Listening and Learning Tour and online discussion, the final 2019 Strategic Plan will set the course for our district for the next three-to-five years and support us as we hone in on how to improve outcomes for all students, especially those furthest from educational justice.

I invite you to participate in the process of refining and strengthening this draft by completing the online feedback form and submitting it by January 22, 2019.

In addition to this feedback opportunity, there will also be community meetings hosted by partners across the city. Feedback will be analyzed and themes will be gathered and shared with the School Board at a January 30 work session. Feedback from the community and the School Board will be provided to the Steering Committee to strengthen and refine the draft plan before it is presented to the Board for approval in March.

The 2019 Strategic Plan will chart a course for the continued success of our students, bringing together the collective vision for the future of Seattle Public Schools.

I truly appreciate your input and feedback to make the Strategic Plan as effective and transformative as it can be.
