About Gina Topp
Priorities for Seattle Public Schools: Gina’s priorities include ensuring equity in education for all students, cultivating safe and inclusive environments, empowering educators, and engaging parents and communities to create a collaborative educational system.
Professional Background: Gina’s career is centered on public service, notably as the chief legal counsel and policy advisor to the King County Executive. With experience handling complex policy and budget challenges, she prioritizes equity, accountability, and delivery of services. She currently operates a solo law practice dedicated to assisting small businesses and nonprofits succeed.
Advocacy for Mental Health Support: Mental health plays a crucial role in every student’s well-being. Gina’s personal experience with counseling during high school challenges, following her grandmother’s passing, drives her commitment to ensure every student has access to vital mental health support.
Educational Background: Gina is a proud “triple Dawg,” having earned a B.S. in Biology, a Juris Doctorate, and a Master of Tax Law from the University of Washington.
Family: Gina resides in West Seattle with her husband Ben and their young daughter.
Gina Topp looks forward to working collaboratively to create a school system where parents, educators, and students are excited about the start of each school day. Together, we can build an SPS where each and every child has the opportunity to thrive.
