Seattle School Board Elects New Board President 
Director Gina Topp will lead the Board beginning Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 

Seattle – Seattle Public Schools (SPS) is proud to announce the election of Gina Topp as the new president of the Seattle School Board. The district congratulates Director Topp on her election and looks forward to her leadership in advancing the district’s mission to ensure every student receives a high-quality, world-class education. 

“We are excited to work with Director Topp as we continue to build on our commitment to preparing all students for success in college, career, and community,” said SPS Superintendent Brent Jones. “Together, we will focus on strengthening opportunities for our students, families, and educators.” 

Under Director Topp’s leadership, the district is committed to working collaboratively with the community to achieve educational excellence and equity for all students.
